Derek is TWO already!!

My little Derek turned 2 years old yesterday! It is so crazy to me...I remember him being born like it was yesterday! I had a doctors appointment the day after Christmas, I went in and when they asked me how I was doing, I responded..."NOT good!" My ankles were so swollen they would leave an indent when pushed on and I had the nerve problems in my arm and shoulder that prevented me from getting a good nights sleep, not to mention that I felt HUGE! Since I was due January 3rd they said they would induce me one week early, on the 27th...YAY!! So we woke up on the 27th packed up and headed to the hospital around 12. We got all checked in and they started me on IV antibiotics. Around 4 or 5 they started the pitocin and by 9 I was pushing...this one was a little harder delivery than any of my girls. Part of the reason was that he was face up...I wasn't too happy when I realized all my hard pushing was in vain! Once the doctor turned him face down I was exhausted but it only took 10-15 more pushes and he was here:) He weighed in at 9lbs. 5oz....my biggest baby so far! I am sure glad he was born a week early! His big sisters were so excited to have a little brother:) He is such a good little boy & we love him so much! He wakes up in the morning and heads straight up to "aylas" (Mikayla's) room. He is very well taken care of by his sisters and he has brought such joy to our family:) He makes me smile and laugh DAILY! We love you Derek!!
